Counting rows
Which row am I on? Counting rows, rounds and repeats without losing your place.

Guides

How to Remember to Decrease Every 6th Row
To decrease every 6th row, work a decrease row, then 5 plain rows, and repeat. Write the decrease row numbers down before you start, or set an alert every 6 rows.

How to Count Repeats and Rows at the Same Time
Keep two numbers: the row you are on inside the repeat, and how many full repeats you have finished. The row goes back to 1 each time the repeat count goes up by 1.

How Do You Keep Track of Rows When Knitting?
Use one running count (a row counter, a tally or a marked pattern line) and one backup, such as a stitch marker every 10 rows or reading your stitches. Together they let you find your place again.

How to Count Rows in Knitting: Stockinette V's and Garter Ridges
In stockinette, count the V's in one column on the right side: each V is one row. In garter, each ridge is two rows. The cast-on row never counts.
